The only "press conference" Gov. Sarah Palin has conducted to date as the vice presidential nominee took place on "Saturday Night Live?" And it went (after the real Palin took over for Tina Fey's Palin, who actually fielded a few questions):
PALIN: No, I’m not going to take any of your questions, but I do want to take this opportunity to say, ‘Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night.'
That's funny? (Really?)
UPDATE: A professor of pop culture (Bob Thompson of Syracuse University) has an assignment for Gov. Palin:
I think the work [Palin] needs to do is not the kind on a comedy show. It would be great if she could go on a snobby serious discussion show and blow everybody away...
In contrary to the comments of Bob Thompson, I believe that Saturday Night Live is the only place where Palin is qualified. She is not in the possession of credentials which warrant her tying up a news conference to waste both the networks nor the publics precious time.
If she were honest, truly intelligent, and had ethics of responsibility, I would agree that she should attack the public opinion of her comedy replies to intelligent questions. However with her performance to this point has shown favor only when spewing rhetoric to semi informed crowds at pass by visits. She can raise excitement,as a novelty, but as an honest candidate for her wanted position, she could find much more less competition and potential embarrassments by talking with young people whom she could buffalo as to what she actually obtains in ability of leadership, which is obviously nothing for the office she is seeking.

You might want to check your facts before merrily dissing Palin. She has not only given press conferences, but has done so more often than the Democratic candidates:
