"David The Journalist," "Tito The Builder"

Perhaps you've heard Gov. Palin refer to"Tito the Builder" on the trail recently (in the same bit where she calls her opponent "Barack The Wealth Spender")?

Here's David Corn's encounter with Tito Munoz, who announces he is "disgusted with you guys," for "going after Joe the Plumber" but not reporting "all the time" on Obama's relationship with Bill Ayers. And by "you guys," Tito's "talking about NBC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN. And New York Times. And Washington Post." When Corn replies that the New York Times has had "the longest story to date about Ayers," Tito answers, "and also another one about Cindy McCain that was probably insulting and negative." (If, you know, Tito had to guess).

Yes, that is Byron York of National Review visible at times in the footage. Here's York's take on what transpired between "Tito The Construction Worker" and "David The Journalist" and what it all means. (The "real anger at McCain's rallies," York reports, is at the media, not at Obama). York describes "one lovely moment" in the Corn-Munoz back-and-forth (a moment absent in Corn's footage) when:

[A] shouting match turned into a lesson on the fundamental meaning of American constitutional rights — and the immigrant was the teacher.

“Let me talk,” Munoz said to Corn. “I know the Constitution, and I know my First Amendment — ”

“I’m not the state,” Corn said. “I can’t take that right away from you.”

“No, no,” Munoz shot back. “Even the state, the state cannot take that right away.”

“Right, right,” Corn quickly agreed.

“Nobody can take that away,” Munoz said.

And indeed they can’t.

York is just stuck on stupid.

Of course he thinks "the people" are angry at the "non-National Review media."

Remember, just for example, this guys works for Rich Lowry, who swore he'd do everything in National Review's power to prevent John Sidney McCain III from becoming the nominee.

I don't think he could hear another message if it was tapped on his head in morse code.

Liz,

Nice reporting, if you are going for a commentary why not be professional and get to the heart of TITO's beef with the Media, rather than IGNORE IT!.

Tito, like me is just SICK of the Schlocky media, you all look like a bunch of wh--es, there's an o and an r in there,.

That's right - and the rest of those with out a webpage to pimp our views are just counting the days until the election.

So, you think Obama's gonna win - does that make you a WINNER if he does. I'm here to tell you - if Obama wins, THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF LOSING TO GO AROUND.

If the media is interested in "spreading the wealth" for Obama, why not ask ANY mailcarrier what they think when delivering WELFARE checks And then ask ANY grocery clerk what they think when the "poor" are spending their gov't issued coupons and food stamps.

Lastly, Liz,

When I say I and a "VOLUTEER", I do not mean a paid "community organizer" like Obama - I am a voluteer for Children, Visually Impaired and Guide Dogs , I am NOT paid and I do not nor would not expect ANY consideration in return - unlike Obama, he sounds like a real GIVER (rhetorical and sligthy sarcasitc)

I am so thrilled that we have real men still in this country who are not afraid to speak up for what is right. For months we have had to listen to the druggies and alcoholics of Hollywood preen over Obama and slander Gov. Palin at every turn. Talk about pawns, please!!! So finally real every day American's are speaking up and speaking out - why shouldn't they be heard. Oh I know it's because the special intrest groups who own the media and hollywood don't like it, so they send out their dogs to shut the people of this great nation down!!!!

No offense to anybody, but Tito the builder represents the people that have to work the hardest as a steady paycheck and good retirement are not guaranteed if he does not succeed in what he is doing. The hard work of people like him, in my opinion, compensates in the economy for the lack of productivity of government employeed, a result of governtment inefficiency. People like Tito must work vert hard and smart to earn their money, and when you see that lazy people are so proteted by the government and how much harder the average person in the private sector has to work to make ends meet and achieve a good retirement compared to the average goverment employee, it is easy to understant Joe the Plumber's and Tito's frustrations with Barack Obama's "take from one group to give to the other" phylosophy. With more competition from China, India, and other coutries, the U.S. needs the private sector now more than ever and I believe Obama's "soialistic" policies can hurt this country tremendously in the long term. Ask yourselves, what will happen if the small to medium size businesses(which will be more burdened under Obama) continue to disapear and large corporations (Obama will tax them more) continue to go to other countries due to vastly cheaper labor?

I wish i can vote this election but i am not a citizen yet. I am an immigrant, ASIAN nurse, so sick and tired of all the news and so frustrated how some of these WHITE Americans treat John Mc Cain and Sarah Palin. I cannot understand how they cannot see that almost 100% of the Black Americans are supporting Obama because he is black and it doesn't matter if he is good or not, if he had serve the country or not(he had served himself) but just because they have the same color. I don't know why these people don't see that America became a great country because of people like Mc Cain and Palin and not like Obama who wanted to share our hard earned money to these lazy people(welfare). This is stupid idea. The reason why we come to America and work here is because of the great life and good opportunity. we nurses work hard...long hours and we pay TAXES but that is never fair if I will not sleep tonite because im going to work and Obama will just share my hard earned money to somebody who does not work...Very UNFAIR!!! Americans please wake up! that's why we come to your country because its great, good opportunity. Don't let this man who have not done anything for you lead this great country.

Although one could never discern it from Ms. Barrett's less than poignant commentary, "Tito the Builder" has the empirical data squarely behind him:

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D945SHBG1&show_article=1

The mainstream nightly news outlets are in fact stacked 2 to 1 against McCain.

As is typical of the work product of the self-proclaimed CJR "watchdogs", Ms. Barrett's little snipe is utterly devoid of either facts and substance. She ridicules Tito in a robotic sarcastic defense of her liberal comrades and entirely avoids addressing his concerns.

This is yellow attack "journalism" at its worst.

It's a sad state of affairs when a it takes a construction worker speaking (articulately) in a non-native language to get the truth about media bias in front of a non-Fox News camera.
